This initiative reflects Vietnam’s strategic focus on attracting high-quality foreign investments and enhancing economic ties with South Korea, particularly in advanced technology and energy sectors.

In discussions with Samsung Electronics CEO Roh Tae-moon, Mẫn acknowledged Samsung’s significant contributions to Vietnam, which include investments, job creation, and increased state revenue. Roh reaffirmed Samsung’s commitment to aligning its operations with Vietnam’s development goals, focusing on digital transformation, technological innovation, and workforce development. Mẫn’s meeting with SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won highlighted Vietnam’s interest in expanding its footprint in sectors like semiconductors, AI, and renewable energy. He welcomed SK’s proposal to establish a large-scale AI center in Vietnam and explore investments in energy infrastructure and AI data centers. This aligns with Vietnam’s broader ambitions to enhance its technological capabilities and sustainability efforts.

In a separate discussion with LG Innotek CEO Moon Hyuk-soo, Mẫn emphasized LG Group’s substantial investment of over $10 billion in Vietnam and encouraged deeper collaboration with local suppliers. The focus was on strengthening technology and skills development. LG has recognized Vietnam as a crucial part of its global production network, indicating a strong partnership moving forward.

Lastly, Mẫn met with Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin, pushing for expanded investments in smart urban development, infrastructure, tourism, and services. He emphasized the importance of accelerating major projects while maintaining a commitment to sustainability, green development, and adhering to ESG standards. These discussions underscore Vietnam’s proactive efforts to solidify economic cooperation with South Korea, particularly in future-oriented industries.
