Vietnam and France have reinforced their commitment to enhancing their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with a focus on bolstering cooperation in key areas such as diplomacy, trade, defense, energy, technology, and infrastructure. During recent discussions held in Hanoi, representatives from both countries assessed the progress of their bilateral relations and agreed to expedite the execution of their partnership action plan.
Vietnam emphasized the importance of increased collaboration in sectors like defense, cybersecurity, nuclear energy, science and technology, critical minerals, and major infrastructure projects. Additionally, Vietnam urged France to hasten the ratification process of the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and to continue supporting efforts to lift the European Union’s “yellow card” on Vietnamese seafood exports.
On the French side, Vietnam was highlighted as a vital strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region. France expressed a keen interest in expanding cooperation in areas such as nuclear energy, rare earths, satellite technology, transportation infrastructure, healthcare, and cultural exchanges. Both nations committed to enhancing coordination on regional and global issues, with an emphasis on promoting multilateralism, dialogue, and sustainable development.
These discussions underscore the shared vision of Vietnam and France to deepen their strategic ties and collaborate on a wide range of issues that are critical to both nations. The reaffirmed partnership aligns with their mutual goals of economic growth, security, and sustainable progress, while also addressing global challenges through joint efforts.
