In a bid to bolster economic and trade ties, First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, recently convened with Vietnam’s Ambassador to Qatar, Nguyen Huy Hiep, at the chamber’s headquarters in Lusail. The dialogue centered on fostering collaboration between the private sectors of both nations, pinpointing potential investment avenues, and identifying pivotal sectors for future partnerships.
Al Kuwari expressed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to nurturing stronger alliances and joint ventures between Qatari and Vietnamese enterprises. He lauded Vietnam’s robust economic trajectory, emphasizing the mutual benefits of enhanced bilateral trade. The Vietnamese ambassador reciprocated by underscoring his country’s eagerness to fortify economic cooperation with Qatar. He pointed out that the bilateral trade between the two nations surpassed $860 million in 2024, which reflects a $100 million increase from the previous year.
Encouraging Qatari investors to consider ventures in Vietnam, Ambassador Nguyen highlighted sectors such as agriculture, food processing, and halal products as particularly promising. He also stressed the importance of Qatar Chamber’s role in introducing Vietnamese agricultural and halal goods to the Qatari market, enhancing the visibility and accessibility of these products.
Furthermore, the ambassador extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber and Qatari business leaders to attend the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026. Set to take place in Ho Chi Minh City next September, this annual expo is a significant global trade event. It focuses on sourcing, exports, and supply chain collaboration, drawing participation from international companies and industry leaders across various sectors, including food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics.
