Vietnamese National Assembly President Trần Thanh Mẫn has embarked on an official visit to China, departing Hanoi on Sunday. The visit is intended to bolster bilateral relations and enhance parliamentary cooperation between Vietnam and China. This trip marks Mẫn’s first visit to China as Vietnam’s top legislator.
During his visit, Mẫn will co-chair the second session of the cooperation committee between Vietnam’s National Assembly and China’s National People’s Congress. This visit comes at the invitation of Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress. Key discussions are expected to focus on improving coordination between the two legislative bodies and aligning with Vietnam’s foreign policy priorities.
The visit also aims to reinforce parliamentary cooperation as a fundamental component of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two nations. This effort reflects the broader commitment of both countries to strengthen political engagement, deepen institutional cooperation, and advance their long-term bilateral partnership.
